Delight Diving strictly adheres to SSI (Scuba Schools International) standards to ensure absolute safety for children. The minimum age requirements for our diving programs are as follows:
1. Try Scuba (Introductory Dive) – From 8 Years Old

Minimum Age: 8 years old.

Program: Try Scuba or Scuba Rangers (specialized kids’ program).

Details: At this age, children can experience scuba diving in shallow waters or swimming pools under 1-on-1 instructor supervision. This is a fun, introductory experience to familiarize children with diving equipment.

Maximum Depth: 5 meters.
2. Certification Courses (Junior OWD) – From 10 Years Old

Minimum Age: 10 years old.

Course: Junior Open Water Diver (JOWD). The curriculum is identical to the adult OWD course.

Restrictions:

Ages 10–11: Limited to a maximum depth of 12 meters and must dive with an Instructor or a certified parent/guardian.

Ages 12–14: Limited to a maximum depth of 18 meters and must dive with a certified adult.

Note: Upon turning 15, the Junior certification can be upgraded to a standard Open Water Diver (OWD) license.
3. Snorkeling – All Ages

Minimum Age: No age limit.

Details: Snorkeling is a safe surface activity suitable for all ages, provided the child can wear a life jacket and feels comfortable in the water. It is an excellent choice for the youngest family members.
The Most Important Factor: Maturity
Beyond age limits, we assess a child’s physical and psychological maturity. Children must be able to listen to, understand, and follow safety instructions provided by our instructors.
