The SSI Night Diving & Limited Visibility specialty combines specialized theory with at least two open-water night dives designed to build your confidence and technical ability.

Light Communication: Master specialized Light Signals to communicate clearly with your buddy and group in total darkness.
Safety Protocols: Learn specific entry/exit procedures and “lost buddy” protocols tailored for nighttime environments.
2. Advanced Underwater Skills
Buoyancy in the Dark: Practice maintaining a perfect horizontal trim when your only reference is the beam of your light.
Illumination Techniques: Learn how to light up the reef effectively to navigate without blinding your buddy or scaring away shy marine life.
Night Navigation: Use a compass and light markers (strobe lights) to ensure a precise return to the boat or shore.
